Hugh Scott,  Born 22 December 1956 in  St Andrew, Jamaica, is an engineer, entrepreneur, and businessman. in 1988, he became chief engineer at Jamalco where he worked for 14 months while running Sports Rock Café on the side. He worked at the National Housing Corporation for 4 year before starting KES Development with his wife in 1996 using US$100 000 in savings and loans to buy a half acre property. They then had to borrow more money to develop the property into 8, 1 and 2 bedroom apartment units. The development then ran into problems with local authorities and the interest rate on their loans climbed to 60%. This loan would be with them right up until 2003 when they were able to reach a settlement with the financing company.

KES Development Company Limited is today one of the biggest Construction and Real Estate companies in Jamaica, designing and building 228,000 square feet of housing and office space in 2004 with market value of over US$16 million. KES Development is now an integrated company providing engineers, architects, project management, building contractors, building material, construction equipment leasing and real estate development.
